Property - the blind data spot.
As is so often the case, however, there is a lack of more precise data to clearly grasp the extent of the property gap among women. Real estate data is rarely broken down by gender in any country. Individual evaluations show that women in Germany, for example, only make up one-third of all property buyers. In Australia, single women own 26.2 percent and in New Zealand 20.3 percent of all residential property, significantly less than men. In Switzerland, there are no such evaluations at all. Without any data, it is difficult to demonstrate that there is a need for action.
At least women are catching up. The USA is a positive exception. There, more single women than single men own a home.
